KAMPALA, May 8 (Xinhua) -- Uganda's 18-year-old striker Dickens Kilama has signed for Spanish Division 1 side, Europa Point Football Club.

Kilama has been a player at the Football for Good Academy based in the northern Ugandan district of Gulu.

James Obalo, an official from the Academy, told Xinhua on Tuesday that Kilama who had trials with the Spanish club had signed the contract with the team on Monday.

The Academy is a full-time residential youth football school for both boys and girls from across Uganda and East Africa.

"This is a good deal for striker Kilama and also for our Academy because it proves that we are doing good work by developing talent," added Obalo.

Kilama traveled to Spain in March this year where he had training stints at Segunda B, Merida AD and Europa Point FC.

Other Ugandan professional players abroad are playing for teams in the United States, Vietnam, Austria, Hungary, Britain, Azerbaijan, Ethiopia, Sudan, Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and India.
