          HANOI, May 13 (Xinhua) -- A 33-year-old Australian man and a 34-year-old Czech woman beat over 1,600 triathletes from 56 countries and regions to top the Techcombank Ironman 70.3 Vietnam's Da Nang on Sunday, which serves as a qualifying race for the 2018 Ironman 70.3 World Championship slated for Sept. 1-2 in South Africa.

          Tim Reed, one of Australia's best professional triathletes and the 2016 Ironman 70.3 world champion, finished first at the one-day triathlon race themed "Be Greater Together" in Da Nang, followed by his compatriot Timothy Peter Van Berkel.

          In the women's event, Czech professional triathlete Radka Vodickova ranked first at the race in the Vietnamese city, tailed by Australian athlete Dimity Lee Duke.

          A total of 1,603 triathletes, including 620 Vietnamese, partook in a 1.9-km swim, a 90-km track bike race and a 21-km run.
