JERUSALEM, June 21 (Xinhua) -- A technology community in Israel will hold a hackathon on Friday to generate ideas of solving the "kite terror" problem along the Israel-Gaza Strip border.

Participants of the event have come up with ideas to work on laser and optics that can recognize them before landing and burn the kites remotely.

About 250 people have already signed up for hackathon, far above the organizers' expectations, including experts in the fields of laser, optics, quadcopters and radar.

Hackathon will be held at a technological park in Sha'ar Hanegev, not far from the border, where experts from various fields will try to find a solution.

Participants also include bird experts, kite fliers, balloon pilots, fire experts, security personnel, programmers, engineers, technology veterans of elite army units, and an expert on training birds to destroy kites, quadcopters and balloons.

The "kite terrorism" erupted in May, since when the Palestinians have launched hundreds of burning kites to ignite fields in Israeli settlements and damage infrastructure.
