        1. Ghana release final 21-strong squad for 2018 Women's AFCON

          ACCRA, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- The Head coach of the Black Queens, Ghana's senior national female national team, Bashir Hayford on Sunday named his final 21 players for the upcoming Africa Women's Cup of Nations (AWCON).

          The competition will be staged in Ghana from Nov. 17 to Dec. 1 in the national capital Accra and coastal city of Cape Coast.

          The final team includes experienced goalkeepers Patricia Mantey, Fafali Dumahisi and Nana Ama Asantewaa.

          Ghana's Black Queens has been paired in Group A of the 2018 AWCON, alongside Algeria, Cameroon and Mali.

          Ghana will face Algeria in the tournament opener at the Accra Sports Stadium on Nov. 17, before playing Mali and Cameroon.

          Nigeria, South Africa, Equatorial Guinea and Zambia are in Group B of the biennial tournament.

          The top three teams of the competition will qualify as Africa's representatives to the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France. Enditem
