NAIROBI, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) -- Nigeria's Lobi Stars are gearing up to overtake Kenyan champion Gor Mahia when the two sides meet on Friday in Enugu in the return leg clash of their Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League match.

The Kenyan side beat their Nigeria opponents 3-1 on Sunday but the Nigerian team's coach Solomon Ogbeide said Monday that his side would overturn the deficit.

The winner of the encounter will move the money brackets and join the seeded team in the final 16 round of the competition.

"The score line doesn't matter. It does not reflect the efforts my players put in. We have seen them now we go back home to look at where we went wrong, make corrections and see how best they will withstand the waves of attacks I intend to pile on them," said Ogbeide.

However, the Kenyan side displayed a better performance against the Nigerian side after they struggled to overcome Nyasa Big Bullets of Malawi in the preliminary round.

They barely scrapped through on penalties. New coach Turkish Hassan Oktay seems to have steadied the ship and will demand better show in Enugu.

Taking the away goal as a positive, Ogbeide believed they can make amends at their backyard and register a 2-0 win to proceed to the group stage due mid-January.

"There was a moment of madness from my defense and they gifted Gor Mahia two goals. We will go home and rectify the anomaly, seal the porous defense and launch our attack," said the coach.
